Weekly Scripture Readings

Excuses come so easily to us. They have become so common to everyday life that giving excuses is almost routine, like brushing teeth and bathing.  Although they come in different shapes and sizes, all excuses have one thing in common: they enable us to avoid facing the truth.   God does not accept our excuses.  All through the Bible, people like Jonah, Gideon, and Moses gave excuses for why they couldn’t do what God asked them to do.  But God changed their hearts and used them for His glory.  You are invited to read these passages of Scripture and ask God to help you to stop making excuses so you can better follow, obey, and be used by Him.

Monday:   Read Luke 14:1-24.
