Weekly Scripture Readings

You are invited to join us this Wednesday, June 10th, beginning at 6pm in Taylor Hall for prayer, fellowship, and food.  This will be an opportunity for us to join our hearts together and lift up to God the needs, concerns, and praises of our church, our community, and each other.  God invites us in His Word to pray: "If my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their sinful ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14)."  Let us accept this invitation from God and follow the example of the early church who “continually devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayers (Acts 2:42)".   Come pray with us on Wednesday, June 10, and see what God will do.

We live in a troubled and uncertain world.  With all the global conflicts, economic uncertainty, and political division, having feelings of fear, worry, and anxiety is understandable.  Where can we find real peace today in the midst of a troubled world?  Among the first words spoken by Jesus after his resurrection were, “Peace be with you (Luke 24:36).”  This peace from Jesus is what we need to ease our fears and calm our troubled hearts.  You are invited to read these passages each day this week and learn about a peace that will “guard (like a fort) your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).”
