Ministry is pretty exciting down
here!
Greetings from the middle of the world,
We pray that this update finds you all rejoicing in the upcoming season with hope and lots of laughter!! We haven’t heard from many of you lately but continue to pray for each of you in these challenging economic times. How are you all fairing? We have been seeing a decrease in support for several months so we knew something was up before the “crisis” hit. We are hearing personal stories about the ripple effects from the USA to Mexico and are just beginning to see it here in our community. Our prayer and encouragement to each of you is to take courage and remember that all this is temporary and praise and thank God for our salvation through Jesus Christ. The Great Commission continues to be our message and mission to all the nations and peoples of the world and HIS WILL BE DONE ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN!!!! Keep us on the front lines of the battle.
Ministry is pretty exciting down here.
- We continue to love, teach, feed and care for the 40+ kids and adults of Chaquibamba each Saturday.
- We are still waiting for the strawberries to recover from various diseases and rain. Limes are improving.
- Tim finished teaching an 8 part series on evangelism at a church in Quito and begins again this Friday at another church (using the10 commandments as an evangelism tool.)
- Daina has 8 English students divided in 3 groups. Each group meets twice/week for 2 hours each.
- Hope Bible School has 32 registered students in 2 churches; 26 adults and 6 youth. 2Timothy 2:2.
I know you are all saying, “wait a minute, why is this the first we have heard of some of the activities?” We apologize for not reporting in sooner but all of this is just exploding and it is so exciting—we are still in awe as God reveals new ministries where He can use us. We feel we are now on the fast track in ministry. Thank you all for your prayers that have gotten us through the rough as well as the exciting times. We wouldn’t want to do this without your prayers lifting us up. Continue to pray for the Lord of the harvest to raise up workers. FYI There is a new couple raising support to join us here in Ecuador.
As you can guess, we have A LOT more preparation time which has been a wonderful extended time with God’s word and in prayer. We plan to have more info to you before Christmas in our December newsletter. Check out some new pictures on the website www.themssionsociety.org where we serve—Ecuador-Datwylers. (We would attach them but we have S L O W internet so it would take days to send this with attachments to all of you.)
Please know that you are in our prayers through this holiday season and throughout the year, Tim and Daina
